A short spot from Michael Coren’s interview with Danish cartoonist Kurt Westergaard. Coren’s point is well-taken:

The alarming thing about the email that flashes across the screen is that it originates in Calgary, Alberta. How close to home is “too close to home” when we’re talking about people who at least articulate a desire to see someone else die because of a perceived slight against Islam?

And yes, I think it’s reasonable to assume that the author of the email in question is a Muslim; his identification of the other two major monotheisms as being views apart from his points in that direction, as does his palpable rage at Coren’s decision to speak with Westergaard, whose infamy stems from this drawing of Muhammed:

BCF, meanwhile, wonders whether someone at the CHRC didn’t pen the cited email. His point about the grammar and English being…er…”too good” is well taken, though admittedly it wouldn’t have been my first thought. I’d personally have wondered whether someone at Syed’s mosque was the author…
