Climate emails did come from Siberian server

…but don’t worry, the Russians have “denied a clandestine state-sponsored operation to wreck the Copenhagen summit.”

That’s reassuring.

Of course, that’s…er…also not what the story in the Daily Mail is really about, despite its headline. But I suppose some editor somewhere decided he’d try and bury an explosive article behind a somewhat lame headline.

I’d excerpt it, but Ace is basically right when he says that the whole thing is a must-read; it is a relentless analysis of the blatant dishonesty that was at work in generating the hockey stick graph that so famously graced the cover of an IPCC report, and which can be found in science textbooks and other publications all over the Western hemisphere.

But it’s nice to know that the Russians weren’t formally involved in the release of these documents, and that a Siberian server was obviously just a thing of convenience to whoever leaked them from inside the East Anglia CRU.
