Changes afoot
Small ones, though. I’m just importing content from Time Immortal over to this blog. It’s slow-ish going, as I’m working through about a year of content at a time (although now that I’m up to 2007, I may have to work in batches covering 6 month spans of time)…and to be fair, I’m actually more than a little bit disappointed. The SQL extract that my previous ISP gave me doesn’t seem to have preserved much of my content from about mid-2006 on back, so I’m doing little more than importing article titles in many cases.
I think I may have the text of those articles stored elsewhere, so they’re probably not lost to time entirely (although there’s still the question of whether it’d be worth it to take the time to actually unearth them again), but it’s still rather frustrating. I really used to enjoy being a client of Canaca.com, but this latest example of outright FAIL on their part is simply too disappointing.
How hard is it to take a proper SQL snapshot, anyhow?
Update: Everything up to the end of January 2008 has been imported, which is substantially more than I expected to get done in just one day. Please be advised that these posts will now only be available at this site; they’ve been removed from Time Immortal.
