Liquid water found to be wet

Which is to say: a recent study has demonstrated that co-ed dorms fuel student drinking and promiscuity. Such a keen grasp of the obvious these researchers have!

A new study finds university students in coed housing are 2.5 times more likely to binge drink every week. And no surprise, they’re also likely to have more sexual partners, the study found. Also, pornography use was higher among students in coed dorms.

Some 90 percent of U.S. college dorms are now coed.

More than 500 students from five college campuses around the country participated in the study. Among the results:

42 percent of students in coed housing reported binge drinking on a weekly basis.

18 percent of students in gender-specific housing reported binge drinking weekly.

While that doesn’t put coed housing on par with fraternity and sorority houses, the researchers note that binge drinking isn’t exclusively a “Greek problem.”

On a related note, “Two-thirds of college students have been in a “friends with benefits” relationship, citing the lack of commitment required as the main advantage to such an arrangement.”

On another related note, just under two-thirds of all STD cases occur in people under the age of 25…people, in other words, of “college age.” About one in four college students has an STD.

Please, someone: try and convince me that our modern society has a more responsible, and in general better, attitude toward sex than that which the Church promotesse.
