Leaving Denver
Actually, getting stuck in Denver overnight wasn’t too bad. We found a Homewood Suites near the airport that offered a shuttle service and a hot breakfast, and managed to catch a few hours of shut-eye.
Actually, the hotel staff were more than decent; they had complementary toothpaste, toothbrushes, razors, shaving cream and combs waiting for us when we arrived. Such amenities, plus a comfy room and breakfast, are not the sorts of things a stranded traveller usually expects to find.
So we’re in the Denver International Airport now; the plane begins boarding in about an hour.
It sucks, having missed seeing Grace upon arriving home and Ella at her awakening…but at least United is getting us home only half a day late. It’s way better than being stuck here.
