Bright Nights, Christmas, Edmonton, Hawrelak Park

This picture was taken at Bright Nights (or is it Bright Lights?) — the annual Christmas Lights display put on in Hawrelak Park by various associations in Edmonton. Most of the displays are the same from year to year, but they’re still enjoyable to see.

What I like most about this shot is how I managed to get all the archer’s arrows captured in the frame. Normally, the arrows light up in sequence from right to left, to give the impression of the archer shooting the target. With a bit of patience and some help from my tripod, though, I was able to get the whole sequence frozen in the shot, as though all the lights were on at once.
