Of course…
…stacked against the Church in the Jim Corcoran affair is the fact that Canada’s top court has itself recently shown it has no particular regard for the right of a “mature minor” to freely exercise the tenets of her Religion.
Granted, I think the Jehovah’s Witnesses practice of denying blood transfusions to their members is errant, but that’s also beside the point. The point is that the state saw fit to intrude into the practice of a person’s faith, leveraging the force of law in an attempt to override a doctrine (however incorrect it might have been).

Civilization and Freedom depends on Freedom to be stupid. Like Skydiving. Progress in any area, any at all, seems to require blood sacrifice… If the JWs want to refrain from blood, we all benefit by forced advances in bloodless surgery techniques.
This means YOU!
When government controls everything you do, it is a small step to taxing everything you do.
OOps… too late.
Hi Tom,
That is basically the case, isn’t it? Interesting, mentioning taxation…wouldn’t it just be the height of Trudeaupian Canada to levy a speech tax on the people?
By the way, thanks for spotlighting that email issue; I’ll see if I can’t figure out what’s causing it.
