I did actually take some photos of Grace’s sister playing soccer, the previous two pictures nonwithstanding. And actually, I have to sing the praises of the DMC-TZ5 here: it really held its own for action photography.

Initially, I’d been shooting with my SLR, but I just don’t have the same zoom power with any of my lenses as I have on the compact…so I decided to experiment, and was more than pleasantly surprised by the results.

And I think I’ve convinced myself that my next lens purchase needs to be something in the telephoto range.

Unusually, for shots I’ve taken with the DMC-TZ5, I decided to do some post work on this picture in Lightroom (in truth, I just wanted the vignetting, but wound up doing a few other touch-ups).

Also: tomorrow is a big day!
