I give it 1 chance in 3 that I get around to posting Pics of the Day tonight
I’ve been more behind than this before, though, so it’s not like I’m particularly concerned.
Wyoming has been good for one thing, however — I have found time to work on the backlog. I’ve edited through a goodly number of photos, and have cut the backlog to just 262 photos in the current Lightroom library. Of course, I still have upwards of 4 GB of photos sitting on my flash cards at present, so I’m not “out of the woods” just yet, and probably won’t be for a while.
But I’m making progress. Which is something.
I’m just in the process of exporting pictures from Lightroom into iPhoto at present. This tends to take a while, especially when we’re talking in excess of 150 photos. So if I don’t get around to posting the Pics of the Day that are currently in arrears, so to speak, please do forgive me.
Or don’t forgive me. I’ll post the pictures either way. Very soon.
I shouldn’t be so hard on Wyoming — what did it ever do to me?
The work in Rock Springs is actually going pretty well; we were uncertain of the exact scale of the job when we arrived, with only the vaguest bits of information as to the number of devices at the client’s facility that we would have to perform our security audits on. It would seem now to be the case that the initial estimates we were given were a bit on the high side, and we will actually be over half done by tomorrow, most likely.
That would be the ideal outcome, at any rate.
I could say more for the weather, which has been various flavours of “blah” since we got here. It warmed up today, somewhat…but only after being quite miserable all morning (“miserable” included a bit of a snowstorm, it should be noted). And the good weather only lasted a short while, before the snow resumed. It seems to have abated for now, however.
The hotel is, as I may have mentioned previously, quite nice, and I’m enjoying the time that is spent with my co-worker on this project. We’re conducting a semi-tour of the restaurants in town, trying to glean recommendations off of the locals. One restaurant, Bonsai, has won our favour in particular, and we’ve even developed a bit of a liking for the local IHOP (strange as that is). I have to remember to try a Sonic Burger while I’m here.
Then there’s the KFC buffet. Yes, buffet…all the Colonel Sanders you can stuff your face with, and then two more drumsticks. I’m just chilled to think that people go to that place with any kind of frequency, in order to stuff themselves with fried chicken. Not that fried chicken — even Kentucky Fried Chicken fried chicken — is a bad thing in and of itself; truth be told, it’s quite tasty.
But…buffet?
No wonder this country is having an obesity crisis.
Anyhow, it’s late and I’m rambling, so I’m going to end things here. Looks like I missed the boat on Pics of the Day, but I promise I will leave Lightroom exporting all night long, so as to have deliverables for tomorrow.
