Apparently, it’s Human Rights Day
I wonder what the CHRC is doing to mark the occasion? I mean, they’ve already laid a wreath at the war memorial in Ottawa, during the Remembrance Day ceremonies (which puts them a month, less a day, off the clock), which is about as public as one can get.
I suggest marking the occasion by checking out Mark Steyn’s comparison (linked above) between the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights‘ statements concerning the various rights that all people are supposedly entitled to (equality before the law, fair and public hearings before an impartial tribunal, presumption of innocence, freedom of conscience, etc.) and the way Canada — through her HRCs, “ensures” those rights.
And by “ensures,” I most definitely mean “denies.”
