This shot really benefited from my having the market version of Adobe Lightroom on the Powerbook.
I actually determined that there was a spot or two of dust on the sensor in my Rebel XT, which I quickly did away with thanks to my air puffer. But the damage was done on this one shot, and so I had to make liberal use of the healing brush in Lightroom.
It works like a charm…a couple quick clicks and the spot is gone, leaving the scene looking right as rain.
This was a one-handed shot, but since I was aiming right at the Sun that didn’t matter: even at the lowest ISO setting, the shutter speed was still in the range of 1/250th of a second.
